Meet The New Boss.
Cruisin' down to the docks in the Old Man's car with a couple of the boys, smokin' buds and doin' 12 ounce curls. Junkies trying to hustle you at every traffic light with their spray bottles and dirty rags. Broken glass on the street. Little kids staring out of open windows. The smell of dead catfish
hangin' in the air. Three legged dogs. Meals out of garbage cans. A deal going down on the corner. Yeah, man, my girl, she's so sweet. She fried me an egg this morning.
Tossed out the Old Man's Sgt. Peppers and got the stereo pumpin' the sound of the Philly streets. The Jersey shore ain't that far away. But it's too damn cold there now. Remember the days when Springsteen was the Boss? Well, the Boss ain't around no more. He made too much money and headed out to Tinsel Town. Lost his soul. Then Marah picked it up. This is the 2000s now, not the 70's or the 80's or the 90's. Things are different, but they're exactly the same. We move faster in the groove. It's about rhythm, man. The words go.
C'mon, belly up to the bar. Draft's a buck. And that band in the corner --
they're gone.
