A3
La Peste
Columbia Records
Columbia Records sends me a lot of CDs. In the 2 years that I've been getting music from them, most of it gets reviewed and then given to friends or family. A3's La Peste album is the third album from Columbia that I've kept in my personal collection. These guys brought us the theme song to HBO's Sopranos. If their first album suffered from having the same beat through the whole thing (and, although I'll admit that it did have the same beat, I won't say that it suffered because of it), this one mixes it up a little, and gets you away from the trance-like glossy eyes that were a side-effect of the first album.
You've got to listen to this album LOUD. And if you're an Eagles purist, you'd better skip track 6 (Hotel California). These guys are Australian Cowboy Gangster Pirates who happen to play Country Acid House music. And, although I'm not usually a fan of this type of music, I really like to listen to this album as loud as my car stereo will let me.
Sounds like: The The's "Hanky Panky" album, A little like U2's "Pop," and the singer sometimes sounds like the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis.
