Cliff Eberhardt

Although I've never been in love with Cliff Eberhardt, I've always loved his music. His voice -- somewhere between folk and blues -- is as cool as the instruments he uses in this collection. Fiddle, dobro, and something called a Tacoma Papoose Guitar, just to name a few. With his lyrics Cliff takes a look at the world around him, and at his own human nature.
The first few songs introduce us to the homey feel of the CD, and then...
Track number 4, "The Land Of The Free" gives social commentary that there are, indeed, borders and boundaries to which we must pay heed. Directly after, "The Wrong Side Of The Line" is a civil war song reminding us of borders from long ago.
Eberhardt gives us a bluesey number or two, then gets down to the business of love. "Anna Lee" is a naked song, sharing with us the regrets of youth. "Your Face" is a beautiful, comforting love song. It's my favorite track not only on this collection, but also on The Long Road, one of Cliff's earlier CD's. There's also "Unrequited," a song that carries with it the melancholy of a sigh. I'm not saying you'd have to be daft not to buy this CD, but...oh, wait. Yes, I am. Enjoy.
