Pink Floyd
The Wall Live 1980-'81
Columbia Records
I don't know how many different ways you can do the wall, but Roger Waters (or maybe his publicist) seems to think that the more, the merrier.
In all fairness, this isn't a bad album, but the liner notes blow the music out of the waters (no pun intended). with the exception of a couple ultra conceited lines (like when David Gilmour says, "...while i belted out the solo to one of the best pieces of music I'd ever written: 'Comfortably Numb.'"), I enjoyed the two booklets that come with the discs easily as much as i enjoyed the discs themselves. The booklets have plenty of photos of what must have been an amazing stage show, complete with 30 foot puppets and a wall made out of cardboard bricks.
There's also a couple extra tracks that aren't on the studio release of The Wall, so everyone who wasn't satisfied by the first try, can have a second chance to like this project.
If you've listened to the studio version of The Wall in the last couple years and enjoyed it, then you should be able to justify spending the money for this double disc set.
