Reverb. That one word can make me shake. And there is a little bit of reverb on this record. But mostly, it's just straight up honky-tonk. These guys usually play honky-tonk standards, but on this album, they've cranked out 14 original songs that sound like they could be used as the new standards. These guys are not perfect, but they're at least really good. Fans of the Nudies should get a big kick out of The Domino Kings.

And now for the bad... The tempo bored me a little bit, but that's what honky-tonk is all about right? And at times, the lyrics get a little cheesey ("You couldn't keep up with her if you had wings"). But all in all, I'd recommend this album to anyone who thinks that Hank Williams should have had more reverb in his vocabulary.
