Fernando
Dreams of the Sun and Sky
Domingo Records
**** (out of 5)
This album is folk music with balls. Dreams of the Sun and Sky is Fernando's followup to 1999's Old Man's Motel. I haven't heard Old Man's Motel, but if it's as good as this new disc, I'm gonna have to get me one and have a listen. It's like beck but with more heart and less angst. And of course anything that sounds like beck must also sound at least a little like the Beatles. And it does. Especially "Away," the third track. John Lennon lives again. Just about every song on this CD is a knockout. If you're 23 or older and not an Insane Clown Posse fan, I'd bet dollars to donuts that you'll enjoy this record.
